Who Needs an iPhone when you can have An Andriod?
April 27, 2011 | cell phones
What is the smartphone of the year? Now we need to decide what the smartphone of the month might be. Yes, Americans can’t seem to make up their mind which smartphone is for them. For the last several months Apple’s iPhone was the envy of all techies and non-techies alike but now it was changed to the Andriod.
Between July and September of last year 33% of you wanted an Apple in your pocket and only 26% wanted the Driod. This year between January and March the shift has been to an Andriod with 31% of the market and iPhone only 30%.
So where’s the rest of the market, well it might be your grandma with a cell phone in her glove box to call you in case she gets a flat tire. Blackberry also has a share last year they were at 13% and are down to 11% this year and 20% of us say we really don’t know.
The rich man’s phone (iPhone) might not be the best choice even if you can afford it. It seems having a phone with no new features for too long has taken it’s toll on users and wallets. Also Apples game of “a new iPhone 5 is just around the corner” is not helping either, people get tired of buying an expensive phone only to have the newer version come out two months later at the same price.
Let’s face it having a smartphone is not just a status symbol anymore it’s a necessity and we need to investigate the options and make the choice that is right for you. If you are going to spend a bundle of money and carry this item with you at all times it better do what you want when you touch the screen.
