Apple Iphone Falls Back Rather Than Spring Forward

May 17, 2011 | cell phones, Technology

Since 2007 Apple has sold more than 100 million iPhones, features that allow users to watch movies, play games, surf the Internet and get driving directions on a small, sleek device.  Not to mention the ability to call or text someone at anytime day or night.

On a day that makes it hard enough to figure out what time it is because of daylight savings time the “smartphone” fell a little short.  It seems some users had a problem with the time yesterday when the phone moved the time back rather than forward.  This caused phones to be off by two hours then everyone else that has a clock they moved forward before they went to bed the night before.

Apple’s iPhone users began to flood Twitter and blogs with complaints Sunday when their phones bungled the one-hour “spring forward” to daylight savings time that went into effect overnight Saturday.  Imagine Grandma missing church on Sunday or Dad having a big Sunday breakfast with a potential client and he misses it because of his phone.

This is very hard to explain as an excuse too because it didn’t happen to every iPhone user.  As a matter of fact there were users in Arizona, who don’t do day light savings, that the phone fell back an hour.  Suddenly the smartphone needs a brain repair.  Apple reported that simply turning your phone off and resetting it would fix the time problem.

This isn’t the first time slip for iPhone, it had problems on New Years Day and also last November when the phone was suppose to fall back an hour.  I guess with all the things the iPhone can remember for you, if you can just remember the time then it will be the perfect device for all occassions.
