  • North Korea says it has developed'advanced hydrogen bomb

The report states that on April 28, 2017 Kim Jong Un's regime launched a single Hwasong-12/KN17 intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM). One such missile reportedly hit one of North Korean cities minutes after it was launched.

The report quoting USA government sources say that the missile failed within a minute of its flight.

Although, the fact that the missile had failed was known, but the location of the crash was unknown, untilthe revelation came fromThe Diplomat magazine. The Diplomat has substantiated its claims with Google Earth images.

Commercially available satellite imagery from April and May 2017 seems to confirm the suspected failed missile launch. The Hwasong-12 is a liquid fuel missile which uses combination of hypergolic propellant and oxidizer. It had unveiled in a military parade just before the accident.

North Korea has not been lucky with missiles of late with a string of failures that engulfed the nation.

Donald Trump
Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un often have a war of words

No casualties were reported, but given Pyongyang's rigid control of the press, it is impossible to know the extent of the destruction and possible loss of life caused by a missile plunging into a populated area.

As per The Diplomat, the explosion had created a significant damage to the buildings in the city.

If true, the report suggests the dangers of North Korean missile tests to countries beneath their flight paths, such as Japan.

This all began when the North Korean leader claimed that he had a nuclear button on his desk at all times, to which Trump retorted back with a "I have a bigger and powerful one". The consequences in the region could be catastrophic.
