She was sentenced to 10 years of probation and ordered to get counseling, according to The Oklahoman.

The Stephens County District Court sentenced Misty Spann to 10 years probation, according to Tulsa World.

The defendant, who is from Duncan, was set to stand trial but instead entered a guilty plea Tuesday for last year's nuptials to mum Patricia Ann Spann.

Patricia and Misty were both arrested on September 12, 2016, after authorities discovered that the two were legally married.

Misty filed for the marriage to be annulled "by reason of illegality and fraud".

Patricia is identified as Patricia Ann Clayton on their marriage license application, filed in March 2016 in Comanche County.

In Oklahoma, incest is a felony, and, if convicted, is punishable up to 10 years in prison.

She also was married to her biological son in 2008 in Comanche County, according to Tulsa World.

The daughter said that her mother had convinced her at the time by saying that their marriage would be considered legal.

When investigators discovered the illegal relationship, Patricia told officials she didn't think she was breaking any laws by marrying Misty because her name is no longer listed on her daughter's birth certificate.

Patricia Spann, who is also charged with incest, is to appear in court in January.

Another one of Patricia's sons told KSWO that she tried to have an inappropriate relationship with him as well, but he denied her advances.

KOCO 5 reported Patricia's marriages to her children were "all ploys to manipulate state laws". He said that after that marriage was annulled, Patricia set her sights on Misty, allegedly threatening her with poisoning and kidnapping if Misty refused. "Why would you want to be with one of your own kids?"

She wrote a book about the lust she felt for the adult son she had given up for adoption 26 years earlier.

However, GSA is rare between people raised together in early childhood due to a reverse sexual imprinting known as the Westermarck effect, which desensitizes them sexual attraction.
