Senate Dems demand Sessions clarify testimony on Russian Federation

  • A Novi-based CPA is being confused online with one of the men indicted in the investigation into collusion with Russia during the 2016 election by President Donald Trump's campaign

Asked who else was informed, Page played coy, saying, "It will come out".

Special counsel Robert Mueller, who has impaneled a grand jury in his probe of the collusion allegations, charged Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort and another aide, Rick Gates, with money laundering on Monday.

Last month he reiterated he did not know of any Trump campaign official having contact with Russian officials - a claim Senate Democrats are pushing back on.

It was announced the same day that another Trump adviser, George Papadopoulos, had pleaded guilty early in October to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

During a March 2016 meeting of the foreign policy advisory committee that Sessions chaired and Trump attended, Papadopoulos said he could help arrange a meeting between Trump and Putin, according to the court filing. Other aides were wary of the idea before Sessions himself "spoke vehemently against the idea" and asked others not to discuss it, the Times reported earlier this week. A post on Trump's Instagram account shows the March 31, 2016, meeting taking place, with the candidate, Sessions and Papadopoulos all present. Coal industry advocate tapped for mining regulator Bipartisan groups call on DOJ to scrutinize AT&T-Time Warner merger MORE "absolutely" committed perjury in his Senate testimony on contacts between President Trump's campaign and Russian officials.

Reported testimony from former campaign policy adviser Carter Page only adds to questions about what Sessions knew. Jeff Sessions as well as "a few people" on the Trump campaign.

The cause was to raise charges against them for incitement to a rebellion, they could be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison. A High Court source said the arrest warrant for Puigdemont , who is in Belgium, would "most likely" be issued on Friday.

Patrick Leahy, a member of the committee, said.

Gordon said that he did not fault Sessions for not recalling things that Papadopoulos said in private settings, noting that thousands of people approached the campaign, "including many, many true volunteers".

Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) on Friday slammed Attorney General Jeff Sessions for not telling him the truth during his January confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, and again in October during a separate congressional hearing.

Papadopoulos - who boasted of his Russian connection in at least one meeting Sessions attended - pleaded guilty to lying about the timing of those contacts, becoming the first person who served on Trump's campaign to admit to committing a crime. "There were questions that elicited exactly the kind of information that the Papadopoulos plea agreement made".

"I would think that Carter page aspect of this is... troubling", Wallace said.
