  • KSP: Sen. Rand Paul victim of assault

- Sen. Rand Paul was assaulted at his home in Bowling Green, Kentucky by an irate neighbor while he was mowing his lawn on Friday afternoon, according to neighbors.

A witness who is one of Paul's neighbors says that Boucher and the senator have been immersed in an ongoing feud. "Upon their arrival, it was determined that Rene Boucher had intentionally assaulted Paul causing a minor injury", they said in a statement. Senator Paul and Boucher share a corner adjacent to their homes.

The Kentucky State Police reacted to Rand's habitation at 3:21 p.m., as indicated by an official statement from the organization. The charge of fourth-degree assault is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to 12 months in jail.

The suspect was an acquaintance of the senator, WBKO reported, citing state police.
