  • Rams had the NFL's easiest schedule in the first half of the season

No Rams receiver exceeded five targets in this game as Los Angeles full-on pummeled the Giants into submission early and then pulled their starters in the fourth quarter. It started with a sack by All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who forced Eli Manning to fumble in the process.

Goff completed 14 of 22 attempts for 311 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions and completed passes to eight different targets. They scored 30 or more points just 5 times between 2014-16.

The Giants' offense contributed three turnovers in the first half. The Giants were still in the game, trailing 10-7, and had the Rams pinned back on a third-and-33 from their own 48. Receiver Robert Woods, who entered the game without a touchdown for the Rams, got two touchdowns Sunday and caught four passes for 70 yards.

That was quickly followed by Watkins and Jared Goff connecting for a 67-yard touchdown. In addition to that, they gave up the aforementioned 52-yarder as well as passes of 44 (twice) and 35 yards.

With Vernon and Wynn out, rookie Avery Moss will continue to see increased snaps at defensive end. "Mistakes cost us the game". Seeking only some field position, Goff completed a short pass to receiver Robert Woods, but some very bad coverage by the Giants allowed Woods to run 52 yards, essentially untouched, for a touchdown and a 17-7 lead.

"He did a pretty good job today and he's going to be pretty well off in this league", Pierre-Paul said. The Giants had a punt blocked and a missed field goal and failed to do much on offense. The biggest was Cory Littleton blocking Brad Wing's punt, which the Rams recovered inside the Giants' red zone.

The 51 points allowed were the most in a home game since 1964, and the most ever allowed by the Giants at MetLife Stadium.
