Emmerson Mnangagwa's removal for "disloyalty" clears the decks for Grace Mugabe to succeed her husband as president.

BARELY three years he expelled his female deputy, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has fired another, this time Emmerson Mnangagwa as vice president of the country, it has been confirmed.

Information Minister Simon Khaya Moyo said in a statement that Mugabe exercised "his constitutional mandate" by firing Mnangagwa who has recently crossed paths with the First Family.

"It had become evident that his conduct in the discharge of his duties had become inconsistent with his official responsibilities", Moyo said.
