Blockbuster trade: Bucks acquire Eric Bledsoe from Phoenix

  • Blockbuster trade: Bucks acquire Eric Bledsoe from Phoenix

For Monroe, the deal is an unfortunate end to his time in Milwaukee. The move is one that shows the Bucks are committed to winning now and trying to take advantage of the MVP caliber season Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently having, but also maintaining their youth movement that has them as one of the team's expected to be a contender in the East for years to come. Milwaukee ranks just 21st in total points per game at 103.9 points, and are hoping Bledsoe can add some offensive firepower to the team.

Those caveats noted, this is still a trade worth making for Milwaukee. I'm also a really big fan of the Suns getting a first round pick for their troubles.

On Monday morning the National Basketball Association fined Eric Bledsoe $10,000 for his now-famous tweet. In my book, this trade was a win.

Monroe, who joined the Bucks as a free agent in 2015, has been sidelined recently because of a left calf strain. But with the Cavs struggling out of the gates, there's no better time than now.

When crunch time came it was Flanagan, not Keitany, who dominated, impressively leading the final three miles. Flanagan placed sixth in the women's marathon in at the Rio Olympics a year ago , the top American finish.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski detailed why the Suns were shopping Bledsoe. He could have some value as a quality player on an expiring contract between now and February, though the market for centers is limited right now.

Phoenix will have to make a decision within the next month on starter Mike James, as they have until December 6 to turn his two-way contract into a full-fledged National Basketball Association contract. Consider that the Minnesota Timberwolves traded Ricky Rubio last summer for a first-round pick and no salary in return. "Bledsoe does have a long 6'7" wingspan which does fit what Milwaukee typically looks for in their players.

Phoenix has unloaded high-caliber point guards Bledsoe, Goran Dragic and Isaiah Thomas in less than three years and don't have much to show for the deals.

We provided our immediate reaction to the news, discussing what Bledsoe should bring to the Bucks, and the all-important price the Bucks paid to acquire him.
