  • A redesigned, High-End iPad with Face ID Coming in 2018

A new report by Bloomberg is claiming that Apple is working on a redesigned, high-end iPad, with facial recognition capabilities like the iPhone X, for release as early as 2018. Sure, Apple reduced the bezels in the 10.5-inch model that went on sale in June, but a almost bezel-less iPad without a home button is unprecedented. Since the device will feature Face ID for unlocking, authorizing payments, and sending animojis, the physical home button will be done away with.

Apple is reportedly redesigning its iPad Pro series that will be ready to launch next year. Additionally, the new iPad will come with an upgraded processor, GPU, and Apple Pencil Stylus, which will come with a new set of software-enabled features. As it is, the said iPad Pro will stick to an LCD panel, probably due to the supply constraints the company is still facing with respect to OLED panels. KGI had already predicted that Face ID would feature in the 2018 iPad Pro line-up, but now Bloomberg has published further details.

Apple's stylus for the iPad Pro, called simply the Apple Pencil, is arguably the best tablet stylus in the world right now.

The tipster, who has been proved to be reliable when it comes to Apple, also predicted there might be certain design changes in Apple's next year's offerings as a direct result of the company using more stainless steel components in the body.

The email looks like it's from Netflix and claims the users account with the streaming service will be canceled, Mailguard warned .

In many ways, removing the home button makes even more sense on the iPad than on the iPhone.

The last updated iPad was launched in June with a bigger 10.5-inch display that has a ProMotion screen to make jumping between tasks smoother.

The iPad business used to be a huge profit driver for Apple, but revenue has fallen as overall tablet sales have declined in the past few years.

Apple allegedly still sees the iPad as the future of mainstream computing and continues investment in the series. Also, the feature is limited to Apple customers in U.S. right now.
