  • BREAKING: Jags RB Leonard Fournette Benched Vs. Bengals For Violating Team Rule

Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green and Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey were ejected for a brawl late in the first half of Sunday's National Football League clash at EverBank Field. In the days leading up to the game Ramsey said that he was looking forward to going up against a perennial pro Bowler in Green. On the next-to-last play of the second quarter, Ramsey pushed Green to the ground at the end of a running play. The wide receiver put Ramsey in a sleeper hold and took him to the turf where Green proceeded to punch Ramsey in the helmet. Nearly every player from both teams ended up on the field in a pushing and shoving match that lasted for several minutes as officials tried to get things under control.

It was an uncharacteristic meltdown by Green, one of the more reserved and universally respected players on an infamously volatile Bengals club.

Fournette is sixth in the National Football League in rushing thus far in 2017 with 596 yards rushing in just six games.

As it was, the Jaguars gained 407 yards as Blake Bortles went 24-of-38 for 259 yards with a touchdown. "I am here to play football". Whether it's frustration with his inconsistent season and Andy Dalton's inability to get him to the ball regularly down the field, or if Ramsey was just really chirping at him, something caused him to snap.

However, it was clear from the start that Ramsey and Green were getting under each other's skin, as they were jawing back and forth during the entire first half. The Jaguars deactivated Fournette for the Sunday, Nov. 5, game against Cincinnati for violating a team rule.
