  • 4-year-old girl sexually assaulted by classmate girls mother opens up with shocking details

According to the statement recorded, the young victim's mother had said initially she had ignored her child's complaints about the pain as she thought that the girl was throwing tantrums.

Delhi Police chief spokesperson is quoted as telling the Hindustan Times newspaper, "The Indian Penal Code provides children below seven years of age certain protections against prosecution".

The school's legal advisor, S. Rajapa, however, said the school was cooperating with the police.

The girl began crying that night and told her mother about the alleged assault. She said the boy assaulted her with his dirty fingers just after lunch, and then inserted a sharpened pencil into her private parts. "We are examining those provisions even as we are handling the matter with utmost sensitivity", the police said. "I was told to send a written complaint on Monday morning and meet the parents (of the boy), the principal and the teachers (sic)", said mother, in her complaint.

The shocking incident came to light after the parents of the victim - a 4-year-old girl - told police that their daughter returned from school last Friday and complained of pain in her genitalia. The boy kept hurting her allegedly because there was no one around at the time to stop him or hear her.

Her mother said the boy unbuttoned her daughter's trousers, touched her bloomers and put his finger inside.

From denying responsibility to blatantly denying the incident, the school's response has changed since the news broke.

The four-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted in school wouldn't be going back there. The horrific incident took place while the boy and his victim were alone in a washroom. The girl's mother, however, has demanded that the accused boy should be expelled from the school. "Absolutely not", says Dr Samir Parikh, the director of Fortis Healthcare's department of mental health and behavioural sciences.

"It may be at best described as imitation or copy-cat behaviour - the child saw something similar happening became inquisitive and replicated the action without realising the repercussions. or he himself may have been assaulted and could have been repeating the act", the report further added.
