Patterson maintained his outperform rating on Netflix and his $205 12-month price target.

The company says its strategy is to concentrate on getting bigger by acquiring more content and increasing its brand around the world rather than profits for the time being.

However, there is a way to avoid paying more for Netflix...

These price increases come as Netflix is spending more and more on original content. Current subscribers will be notified starting on October 19, and then will become effective at the start of their next bill cycle.

The cost of a standard United Kingdom membership, which lets users watch TV shows and films in HD and on two screens at the same time, has risen from £7.49 to £7.99 per month.

Sharif, 30, is to make his first appearance Tuesday in provincial court on 11 charges, including five counts of attempted murder. One person suffered a fractured skull and was initially in critical condition, but had since been upgraded to stable.

The price changes applied immediately to new customers and will roll out in the weeks ahead to current subscribers.

Netflix had earlier said it would spend over US$6 billion this year on original shows and expected to have negative free cash flow of $2 billion to $2.5 billion.

The standard service, which allows customers to stream shows and movies in HD on up to two screens at once, is now priced at $10.99 monthly, up from $9.99. This is, unfortunately, one of the plans which will be affected by the upcoming price hike.

NETFLIX prices are about to increase - and it won't leave you feeling chill. Investment will rise from around $1 billion to some $7 billion, according to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, in a recent interview with Variety.

With its price increase, Netflix will charge more on a per-month basis than similar plans offered by either Hulu or Amazon.

It's understandable that people would be upset over price increases, but these probably aren't the last ones that consumers will have to deal with.
