Many gamblers falsely believe such machines are more likely to pay off. Weinreich called Danley a "super sweet lady" and says he later learned she had taken off with Paddock.

Earlier Wednesday, the lawyer for Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, said Danley had no idea Paddock was planning any violence.

Paddock, 64, checked into Room 32135 at the Mandalay Bay hotel on Sunday before he carried out the worst shooting in modern U.S. history that also injured over 500.

Las Vegas Sheriff Joe Lombardo has raised the possibility that Paddock may not have been working alone in executing America's worst modern-day shooting spree.

"She said he would lie in bed, just moaning and screaming, "Oh, my God", one of the former Federal Bureau of Investigation officials told NBC News.

Paddock booked one room starting on August 1, two days before the festival opened.

"McMahill acknowledged that Islamic State had repeatedly claimed responsibility for the attack, but said investigators had uncovered "no nexus" between that Mideast-based militant group and Paddock".

"The Hyundai that was sought in connection with the LV (Las Vegas) shooting was located during a search warrant executed at (Stephen) Paddock's house in Reno", Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) tweeted on its official page.

Stephen Paddock, the man behind the mass shooting that left more than 50 people dead and almost 500 hurt in Las Vegas, may have planned event attacks in Chicago and Boston, according to media reports Thursday.

Paddock never showed for the reservations, TMZ says.

In Chicago, Paddock didn't just research hotel rooms overlooking an outdoor festivals, he booked some.

Danley said she was grateful but anxious that the unexpected trip home and the money "was a way of breaking up with me". "You have to make an assumption that he had help at some point".

Mr Paddock died in the room from which he committed the shooting, believed to have shot himself.

"It was pre-planned, extensively, and I'm pretty sure that he evaluated everything that he did in his actions, which is troublesome", Lombardo said.

Police found Stephen Paddock to be a man with no criminal record, but he had about 40 rifles in his possession in several locations.
