Markets close on a high as Sensex gains 200 points

NSE Nifty gained 40 points to open at 10,207.4 whereas BSE Sensex added 56 points to start at 32,488.23 points.

Mumbai: Driven by strong IIP numbers and an unchanged inflation, the Sensex today rallied over 211 points to 32,393, reflecting interrupted buying by domestic institutional investors.

The NSE index Nifty was trading up by 71.50 points, or 0.70 percent, at 10,238.95 after making its new high of 10,242.45 in intra-day trade early.

It broke its previous record closing of 10,167.45, hit on October 13.

Indian equities ended higher on Monday.
