The president also re-upped his repeated calls to use the nuclear option and end the filibuster in the Senate, which is laughable since a bipartisan group of 61 Senators have signed a letter stating they support the filibuster, and Trump can't pass legislation even when a simple majority is required.

US President Donald Trump suggested United Kingdom police had missed a chance to stop "a loser terrorist" carrying out Friday's attack.

He immediately says the attackers were "within the sights of Scotland Yard", suggesting that the United Kingdom police knew who they were in advance but failed to intervene.

Hours after the London Underground blast, Trump tweeted about "loser terrorists" and renewed calls for a "larger, tougher" travel ban.

Besides again voicing his desire for a travel ban, Trump's tweets also raised the issue of online recruitment, which he wrote, "We must cut off [and] use better". Unlike the previous four attacks, there were no deaths as the result of the bombing; 19 people were transported from the site to three different hospitals, while an additional four individuals volunteered to go to the hospital, but none were described to have life-threatening injuries.

He appeared to be suggesting that the perpetrator or perpetrators were previously known to British security services, as was the case with the attackers in Westminster, Manchester and London Bridge. Police said they were investigating it as a terrorist attack.

Police said an "improvised explosive device" was detonated on a train in west London Friday, injuring at least 18 people, in an incident authorities are treating as terrorism.

After an attack in London in June, Trump had lashed London's Muslim mayor Sadiq Khan for telling the public there was "no reason to be alarmed" over armed police on the streets.

"It keeps going and going, and we have to be very smart and we have to be very, very tough-perhaps we're not almost tough enough", he said in response to a question from a reporter. "Must be proactive!" he first tweeted in response.

"Loser terrorists must be dealt with in a much tougher manner".

The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to hear oral arguments to decide the travel ban's constitutionality in October. "Must be proactive & nasty!"

He also dispensed advice on how to stop future attacks from happening both overseas and in the US. As the attack unfolded, Trump on Twitter advocated for his court-blocked "travel ban", calling it "an extra level of safety".
