It is important that the police conduct a time-bound probe, so that the facts about the murder can be unearthed, and all the questions answered: Who killed Lankesh, and who ordered the killing?

Panaji: Media organisations, political parties and civil society groups in Goa on Wednesday expressed deep outrage over the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh and demanded that the Karnataka government nab the culprits immediately.

Gauri Lankesh was actively working with the Karnataka government to bring Naxalites into the mainstream, an initiative that hadn't gone down well with them, Indrajit said. An outspoken critic of Hindutva politics, Lankesh, 55, was shot dead by assailants at the entrance of her residence in Rajrajeshwari Nagar in Bengaluru last evening.

No deadline has been fixed for the SIT, but they have been asked to take up the work immediately, said Siddaramaiah, who heads a Congress government.

Virginia Tech holds off West Virginia 31-24 in thrilling opener
Redshirt freshman quarterback Josh Jackson threw for 236 yards and a touchdown for the Hokies, while rushing for 101 and a score. Somehow, the best player on the Virginia Tech offense got left all alone in the West Virginia secondary, and he capitalized.

Journalists and activists poured into the streets of Bangalore and other Indian cities across the country to protest Lankesh's death and demand justice. As per reports, three bullets were fired in her body.

The memorandum also had a mention of the killing of MM Kalburgi, also a left writer and scholar who was killed in August previous year and how his killers were still on the run, with police still looking for the traces of the culprits. She also faced convictions in two defamation cases.

"The CCTV camera has captured the whole incident", Indrajit, Lankesh's brother told reporters. In Ahmedabad, 200 people, including journalists, gathered at Gandhi Ashram in Sabarmati area in defence of freedom of expression, said Gujarat Media Club President Darshan Desai.

Union Minister and senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari hit back, terming as "irresponsible, baseless and false" the Congress allegation seeking to link the killing of Gauri to the BJP or people following its ideology.
