  • Train derails after colliding with freight train at Waterloo station

A low speed derailment of a passenger train leaving platform 11 at London Waterloo on Tuesday 15 August meant that South West Trains services were disrupted throughout the day.

Later at Waterloo derailed another train that caused delays in movement of trains.

London was thrown into commuter chaos this morning (Tues) after a train derailed at Waterloo station - which is now undergoing massive engineering works.

The passenger train was carrying 23 passengers and two staff members when it crashed into a "barrier train" which had been in place to separate engineering works from operational trains, according to Network Rail.

London Ambulance Service said it had examined three people after the train derailed, but confirmed they did not need hospital treatment.

Scaramucci: Trump 'Needed to Have Been Much Harsher' in Initial Charlottesville Statements
Who did you have in mind there? "I wouldn't have given that statement ", Scaramucci told Stephanopoulos . And so for whatever reason, people have made a decision that they want to eject him.

It added: "South West Trains are advising not to travel into London at this time".

"When this happens, trains have to wait for platforms to become free, occupying the track outside Waterloo and making it more hard to get trains moving".

No one was injured in the accident, and police say they are working with industry partners to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

Passengers using Waterloo and Vauxhall stations are already experiencing significant disruption because of the £800m Waterloo Upgrade works, which are in the second of what should be three weeks. Disruption will continue until the end of service. Network rail said it would "not be appropriate" to comment on the cause.

Comments on Twitter were swift and to the point, including this one from Sadie Castlefield: "We are "strongly advised not to travel to Waterloo".
