More suspects sought after several people stabbed in Finnish city

Finnish police patrol the streets after stabbings in Turku

A manhunt is underway as police search for what they described as "more perpetrators" in the city, suggesting there may have been a brawl or even mass attack. Turku's main hospital had established a crisis centre at which trauma counselling would be available.

One of the people stabbed was pushing a stroller, according to The Sun.

The deadly stabbing spree came a day after two suspected militant attacks in Spain killed 14 people.

"At least 5 victims, most likely some fatalities one was a woman with a baby", one witness tweeted, The Sun of the United Kingdom reported. The attack took place in the heart of the port city in southwestern Finland, just after 3 pm (1300 GMT) in a bustling neighbourhood. "I don't know what he looked like, I just saw this knife, I just saw this knife... it was just terrible". "I took her aside".

Kent Svensson, 44, from Sweden also recalled seeing a man with "a huge white knife".

He told Newstalk Drive the centre of the city has been evacuated.
