With each new iPhone 8 leak that we've seen so far, it becomes increasingly obvious that the hottest iPhone that Apple will launch this year will also feature a design unlike anything we've seen on previous models. The code was first investigated by engineer Steve Troughton-Smith.

It's a mystery as how Apple will secure the iPhone 8 given the traditional Touch ID fingerprint sensor changing forever. "I can confirm reports that HomePod's firmware reveals the existence of upcoming iPhone's infra-red face unlock in BiometricKit and elsewhere", the developer noted, posting screenshots he discovered.

Other than the face detection details, the HomePod firmware also included a smartphone render which looks similar to the leaked iPhone 8. We expect the iPhone 8 to be unveiled alongside the iPhone 7s duo in September, but it won't be on shelves until late October or early November. Still present are the iPhone's round edges and cutout for a front-facing camera with sensors.

Pakistan ruling party meets to consider PM successor
Sharif has moved out of the sprawling Prime Minister House's in the heart of Islamabad and into the nearby Punjab House. Shahbaz Sharif, however, can not step into the role right away because he is not a member of the National Assembly.

All these revelations have been sourced by the developers from the firmware of the company smart speaker, the HomePod. Having said that, it's important to note that, despite the the apparent removal of a Home button, there is no clearcut indication that ever-useful Touch ID has been removed from this version of the phone. The feature will allow users to unlock their phones just by looking at it.

What form the D22 iPhone device takes will be key to ensuring Apple's continued dominance at the high-end of the smartphone market.

The inclusion of face recognition technology might give the iPhone 8 an edge over rivals such as Samsung Galaxy S8. It certainly doesn't look like an iPhone 7S, but will it be an iPhone 8, iPhone X, or something else? "This is a rough situation for Apple", Troughton-Smith told Wired "For them to be the source of the only concrete leaks about it and its design is going to upset a lot of people internally".
