Google CEO Pichai cancels 'town hall' on gender dispute

The word, used four times in the op-ed, is a new favorite among American conservatives.

The ads appear to take issue with Google's firing of James Damore, a now famous former employee that wrote a 10 page memo attributing the larger number of male employees at the company to cultural biases and genetic differences.

Damore went on to explain that, "Public shaming serves not only to display the virtue of those doing the shaming but also warns others that the same punishment awaits them if they don't conform", and claimed that by publishing his manifesto, he committed "heresy against the Google creed".

Damore is now on tour of mostly conservative media outlets. Plenty of websites published internal posts and gave personal information on Google employees. The memo sparked a heated debate; however, the firing of Damore for voicing his thoughts on the issue may have ignited an even bigger one. Google said he had crossed the line "by advancing harmful gender stereotypes" and many employees were upset about the views outlined in the memo.

"An engineer fired for simply expressing an opinion that ran counter to Google's politically-charged atmosphere of an "Ideological Echo Chamber" as (Damore) put it".

Tottenham's Danny Rose apologies for 'ill-judged' outburst
It's all the more impressive given the two separate periods he sat on the sidelines for recovering from ankle ligament injuries. Ritchie is Newcastle's best option against Spurs. "Benitez is loved by the fans, Ashley isn't , and I think that will play out".

He was sacked on Monday, and the situation quickly escalated.

The battling messages come as Silicon Valley grapples with accusations of sexism and discrimination. Damore is dressed in a t-shirt with an altered version of the Google logo that reads "Goolag". In the meantime, the fired Google employee has been thrust into the spotlight and gained several job offers. "You belong here, and we need you", said a report in The Verge on Friday, quoting Pichai.

Google's just-hired head of diversity, Danielle Brown, responded earlier with her own memo, saying that Google is "unequivocal in our belief that diversity and inclusion are critical to our success". Many Google employees recoiled at the document after he shared it more widely last week.

Damore said that he was largely ignored when the memo was circulating within the company, but when it went viral, those who disagreed with the content sent angry emails to the human resources department demanding that he be censored and punished. Introduced as evidence in a lawsuit brought by a former employee alleging that Google's confidentiality agreements were illegal, the email was telling because it highlighted the importance of open discussion at the company as well as its potential perils.
