The Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday made it clear about the involvement of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in the recent terror attack on Amarnath pilgrims.
Claiming that police have cracked the case in less than a month, Khan said it was "purely a terrorist attack" aimed at creating fear.
Out the three terrorists neutralised by the security forces, two of the terrorists have been identified as locals, said a police official. Two of the martyrs have been identified as Javaid Ahmad Dar and Abdul Hameed Mir.
Khan identified three arrested OGWs as Bilal Reshi (a shopkeeper), Aizaj Ahmed Wagey (a medical representative) and Zahoor Ahmed Sheikh (an ad-hoc state road transport corporation driver).
The three "co-conspirators" had also provided shelter to the four militants in Khudwani and Srigufwara, Khan said.
Spontaneous protests broke out on Saturday in north Kashmir areas after three local LeT militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Sopore town, with three persons injured in firing during clashes.
