Conservative commentator Ann Coulter issued several Tweets Saturday night and throughout Sunday unloading on Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines.

Coulter called the woman who was given her seat "dachshund-legged" and said that Delta employees are comparable to prison guards, animal handlers and Stasi policemen.

Delta offered to refund Coulter the $30 she paid for a seat that provided extra leg room on the flight, but all that did was put Coulter in an all-out war mode against the airline and the poor woman who got her seat. At the time of boarding, the airline said it moved Coulter to another window seat on the same row to accommodate seating requests from other passengers.

After landing on Saturday she began to rant to her 1.6m Twitter followers, eventually comparing Delta to fascists. She went on to say: "But at least @Delta was nice @ it, summarily snatching my ticket from my hand & ordering me to move w/o explanation, compensation or apology".

But Delta told FORTUNE on Sunday the seat change that caused Coulter's frustration was a minor one.

Coulter had, she wrote, been "kicked out of a CAREFULLY PRE-BOOKED seat to a less desirable seat" before takeoff. She also complained that she was given a window seat after she reserved one on the aisle.

Another, with a picture of the woman who was given Coulter's seat: " @Delta didn't give my extra room seat to an air marshall or tall person.

She ridiculed the $30 refund, saying on Twitter that it cost her $10,000 of her time to select the seat she wanted, investigate the type of plane and periodically review seat options.

- Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) July 15, 2017 Suck-ass @Delta spends all this $$$ on attractive aircraft & then hire Nurse Ratchets as flight attendants & gate agents. Coulter immediately started creatively tweeting her complaints.

"And another: "@AnnCoulter Additionally, your insults about our other customers and employees are unacceptable and unnecessary".

She pointed fingers at the female passenger in the above photo, claiming that she had "waltz [ed] at the last min" and took her seat. And we hold each other accountable when that does not happen.

"The airline's social media and customer care teams made several attempts to connect with her to apologize for the seat mix-up", reads Delta's statement, and the airline's Twitter history shows it reached out within an hour of her first complaint.
