Warriors say no decision has been made on White House visit

18 June, 2017, 02:07 | Author: Glenda Knight

LeBron James, whose Cavaliers won the title a year ago and fell to the Warriors on Monday, said during a visit to Obama's White House in November that his team would "have to cross that road" if it triumphed again under Trump.

Golden State won the series in five games and Green displayed a shirt that said "Quickie" with the Quicken Loans symbol. Kerr's team set an National Basketball Association record for regular-season wins with 73 last season and returned to the Finals, but lost to Cleveland in seven games.

"We learned from everything we've been through", the team's star guard Stephen Curry said during the trophy celebration Monday. He got off his bus and hopped and shouted as he gave high fives to the crowd.

Finals MVP Kevin Durant was on a different bus with his mom.

At a rally after the parade, Green mocked James' contention that he had never played for a super team. The Warriors have been dubbed a super team with the addition of Durant.

"I was expecting more", coach Steve Kerr told KTVU-TV, joking about the size of the crowd.

Warriors guard Klay Thompson was throwing T-shirts to fans and waving from the top of an open, double-decker bus.

The impending loss of the Warriors to San Francisco was on the minds of some fans who came out to cheer, though many threw the word "dynasty" around and expected one more championship parade in Oakland next year.

The Warriors went 15-1 in this year's postseason, with sweeps in the first three rounds before beating LeBron James and the Cavaliers in five games in the Finals.

Golden State Warriors fans are waking up early to secure a spot along the team's parade route in Oakland, California.

It will start at 10 a.m.at Broadway and 11th Street, wind through downtown streets and end with a procession to the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center on Lake Merritt.

The Warriors made one of the great playoff runs of all time. It was the second parade in three seasons for the Warriors.

Others who may also get a ring include Anderson Varejao (who was cut in February), Jose Calderon (who never had the chance to play with Golden State because they cut him to make room for Matt Barnes) and former Cavs coach Mike Brown. Not if you ask Oakland.

But Thursday the city will make headlines for good news.

Spectators can line up for the parade and rally as soon as 5 a.m., and taking public transportation is encouraged.
