Report of multiple casualties in incident on London Bridge

Multiple witnesses reported a vehicle veering off the road and hitting as many as six pedestrians.

At least five people were injured on the bridge, the BBC reported.

Police said armed officers were also responding to an incident in the nearby Borough Market area of the city. Witnesses also reported seeing people being stabbed by at least one man.

A vehicle crashed into several pedestrians on the bridge while traveling at a high speed at around 10 p.m. on Saturday night just before stabbings were then reported at the market.

"This is a fast-moving investigation", she said. He said: "I could see on my left a further individual was having CPR performed on them by the emergency services".

She said it was a fast-moving investigation and her thoughts were with "those who are caught up in these awful events".

London Bridge and Borough stations have been closed and trains are passing straight through.

Official statements tell us that the two incidents, the auto attack on London Bridge and the stabbings at Borough Market, are connected - though another reported incident in the area of Vauxhall turned out to be unrelated.

The bridge has been closed at the request of police as a hunt continued for at least three suspects, with police unaware of whether all the terrorists were accounted for.

"Due to the ongoing incident in central London, Guy's, St Thomas' & Evelina London are on lockdown to keep patients, relatives and staff safe", the authority that runs the hospitals said on Twitter.

London was struck with the multiple terrorist attacks on June 3, and it's believed that a gang of as many as five men perpetrated them.

A number of people were treated at the scene for less serious injuries.

The force said armed officers were sent to the scenes and shots were fired.

The man with the knife stabbed a waitress, who was hiding behind a partition, in the neck and stabbed a man in the back before running out of the restaurant. "He hit about two people in front of me and then three behind", Ms Jones told the BBC News Channel".

Armed officers went to nearby Borough Market where they were responding to reports of stabbings in the area which is known for its restaurants and bars. They say there's a third incident up at Vauxhall.

Six people have died and many more injured in terror attacks using a van and knives on Saturday night.

About two hours after the first reports of an incident, television images showed people walking away from the London Bridge area with their hands on their heads.

Jack Applebee, who owns a restaurant a block away from Elliot's, said he was standing outside when people came running down the street.

BBC Reporter Holly Jones said she saw a man without a shirt being arrested on the scene.

"This was a deliberate and cowardly attack on innocent Londoners and visitors to our city enjoying their Saturday night", Khan said. "There is no justification whatsoever for such barbaric acts", he added.

The Manchester bombing was the deadliest attack in Britain since July 2005, when four suicide bombers killed 52 people in coordinated attacks on London transport networks.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a statement advising "any affected U.S. citizens who need assistance to contact the U.S. Embassy in London and follow Department of State guidance".
