Majority Whip Steve Scalise is facing a third surgery today, one day after police say IL gunman James Hodgkinson opened fire during a Republican baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia.

The list contained about a dozen names, a source said.

Authorities say he had a handwritten list in his pocket.

Reps. Scot DesJarlais (R-TN) (pronounced day-zharr-LAY), Trent Franks (R-AZ), Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Mo Brooks (R-AL) and Morgan Griffith (R-VA).

Along with Brooks, Duncan, DeSantis, Flake and Paul, others on the field included Reps. All three are members of the House Freedom Caucus, which is a bloc of conservative House members.

WANG: Well, at this point, the FBI's confirmed that the shooter used a 9-millimeter handgun and also a 7.62-caliber rifle.

"For those still wondering, he didn't hate baseball or attractive summer mornings in June", White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said in reference to this article.

Lindsay Rann, public affairs specialist with the FBI's Washington field office, declined to comment on the alleged list, citing the ongoing investigation. After news of the shooting spread on Wednesday, Scalise received many well wishes from his fellow Congress members on both sides of the aisle.

Later that afternoon, it was reported that the sole shooter involved was 66-year-old Belleville, Illinois, resident James T. Hodgkinson, who was shot and killed on the scene.

Sue Hodgkinson said she felt "horrible", saying, "I had no idea this was going to happen and I don't know what to say about it". Senate Majority Whip Steve Scalise and three others were wounded in the attack. The latter is an invitation to people like Hodgkinson to take matters into their own hands through violence.

The FBI is still investigating the case and is looking through Hodgkinson's belongings, including his cellphone, computer and camera.

Hodgkinson, reportedly an avid supporter of and campaign volunteer for pro-abortion Sen. His wife said he talked a lot about politics, and he posted often on Facebook, railing against Trump.

He spewed left-wing talking points on Facebook, consistently railing against Republicans and the wealthy.

A search of online newspapers shows that Hodgkinson frequently wrote letters to his local newspaper, the Belleville News-Democrat, which published almost two dozen of them between 2010 and 2012.

"I am sickened by this despicable act", Bernie Sanders said.

Hodgkinson, the man who shot up a congressional baseball practice Wednesday morning, was allegedly a strong Democratic partisan who was outraged over the election of Donald Trump.
