Rupert Murdoch says Bill Shine has left Fox News

The channel announced today that Bill Shine, who has been co-president of Fox News Channel since August, has resigned and will exit the company after a brief transition period. He was promoted to lead Fox News alongside Abernethy in the wake of Ailes' departure, at the behest of Murdoch, who built the sprawling Fox entertainment empire and is the news channel's executive chairman. Shine has also been named as a defendant in a number of lawsuits against the network, along with O'Reilly and Ailes, including one sexual harassment account detailed by former Fox News booker Laurie Luhn, who alleged that Ailes harassed and "psychologically tortured" her for 20 years.

When New York magazine wrote last week that Shine was possibly in danger, it prompted Fox's Sean Hannity to leap to his defense on Twitter.

A press release from 21st Century Fox states Shine will be replaced by Suzanne Scott, who will take over some of Shine's duties as the new president of programming, while Jay Wallace will become the president of news. Former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson's harassment lawsuit against Ailes last July triggered a succession of lawsuits, internal investigations, resignations and firings.

FOX News Channel (FNC) is a 24-hour all-encompassing news service dedicated to delivering breaking news as well as political and business news.

Shine likely read the Hollywood Reporter piece about himself, for Sherman says that he marched into Murdoch's office early Monday and demanded to talk.

Spicer: Trump 'stands by' description of Obama as evil
The president insisted that he had his own opinions and that Dickerson could draw his own conclusions about what Trump meant. Since Trump tweeted that claim in early March, Obama's camp thoroughly disputed the accusation .

On Monday evening, Hannity said he was not, contrary to some rumors, negotiating for an exit from Fox News. Shine had reportedly been named in at least four lawsuits accusing Ailes of engaging in harassing or discriminatory behavior. Jack Abernethy remains Co-President of FOX News and chief executive officer of Fox Television Stations. Wallack has also been with Fox News since 1996. Ailes has denied the allegations. Among others, former host Andrea Tantaros alleged in a suit a year ago that she complained about Ailes' harassment of her to Shine, and Shine advised her against pursuing the claim.

Last week, Hannity even warned that Shine leaving the network "would be the total end of the [Fox News Channel] as we know it".

In his official statement, he said, "This is a significant day for all at Fox News".

According to the Daily Beast, Hannity was already panicking about the editorial angle the network might soon take, but with Shine gone, Hannity sees no reason to remain at Fox.

The news represents what may be the final nail in the coffin of the "old" Fox News establishment. "Done." He added: "Somebody HIGH UP AND INSIDE FNC is trying to get an innocent person fired".
