The new Gallup tracking poll was released on Monday afternoon and put Donald Trump's job approval rating at mere 38 percent - the lowest mark he has reached since April 1.

This is slightly higher than early May, when the figure had plunged to 46 percent, a record low for any United States president during their first months in office. Last week, Mr Trump abruptly dismissed FBI Director James Comey, and then contradicted his press team and Vice President Mike Pence when explaining the reasoning behind the firing.

Still, the Politico poll found that respondents were more likely to say Trump's decision was inappropriate after they were informed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is actively investigating Russian Federation for interfering in the 2016 election, and whether the Trump campaign colluded with Kremlin officials. The recent numbers by NBC note that at this time, Trump's current poll standing is quite similar to where George W. Bush was in October 2005, describes CNN.

Of the 698 respondents in the automated telephone survey, 51 percent opposed Trump's decision to terminate Comey.

Though only 42 percent of people who voted for Trump in the election still "strongly approve" of his job performance, it looks like Republicans are sticking with him.

And for people saying that, for the most part - it would kind of hurt my feelings when you haven't done anything". She was accused of getting butt implant rumors after the former Olympian posted a salacious video to Instagram.

And a growing number of respondents said they felt Trump won't even finish his four-year term.

What's more, the RealClearPolitics average now shows the biggest gap between those who approve and those who disapprove since Trump took office. According to New York Times, the said polls have revealed Trump to be the least popular US president in modern history as of the first few months of the term.

Republican and right-leaning voters have remained loyal to the president during his first three months in office even as Democrats and those on the left have attacked him as incompetent and unsafe. Forty-two percent say Trump acted inappropriately, up from 34 percent in the previous poll. In the wake of this turmoil in the White House, Democrats have been watching vulnerable Republican House and Senate seats very closely. And 45 percent disapprove, statistically unchanged from last week's 44 percent. Among Republicans, 49% said wealthy Americans pay too little, 21% the right amount, and 19% too much. The poll, of 2,001 registered voters, has a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
