SS John Glenn rocketed from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Wednesday with almost 3.5 tonnes of food, experiments and other goods. "The more than three tons of pressurized cargo in the Cygnus spacecraft will be put to good use to continue our mission of research, exploration and discovery".

An unmanned Cygnus cargo ship carrying a load of supplies and science experiments arrived safely at the International Space Station on April 22, 2017, according to live images broadcast on NASA television.Working from inside the orbiting lab, USA astronaut Peggy Whitson and her French counterpart Thomas Pesquet operated the station's external robotic arm to grab the approaching spaceship at 6:05 am (1005 GMT).

Commander of the station's Expedition 51 crew, Whitson will officially set the USA record Monday for most cumulative days in space, surpassing NASA astronaut Jeff Williams' record of 534 days.
