  • Dennis Dunn: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

A womans cries for help from Dunn's shed led to her rescue from a pit in the shed, where police in OH said she was being held captive.

The first officer who arrived also heard the cries, which led him to the shed.

The woman's mother initially reported her missing about 2 a.m. and called police about 4 a.m.to report cries from a shed behind Dunn's house, police said. It was not clear how long she was there.

Upon being found the victim was reportedly having a seizure and taken to hospital.

The woman was removed and hospitalized, though she showed no physical trauma, according to police.

According to The Courier, Dunn could not be reached for comment while at the hospital and in custody.

He faces previous charges of disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.

Reinbolt said officers arrested the home's lone resident, 45-year-old Dennis Dunn, and charged him with kidnapping.

And when police went to check, they found Elliott. Police said he had repeatedly called them to his home because he heard voices or thought people were trying to get in.

The pit was so small that the woman was unable to stand up. They said Dunn has a history of mental health issues. "Luckily the situation was brought under control without anyone being hurt", Reinbolt said, adding that the firearm was seized.

Fox19 described where the woman was kept this way: "She was kept captive down a pit dug at the bottom of the shed".

"To me, it's sad".

"Due to the fact that Dunn has a past history of mental illness, and the information indicating he had an assault rifle inside the home, the Warren County Sheriff's Office was asked to send their Tactical Team to the scene in order to execute the search warrant", said Reinbolt. It couldn't be determined whether he has an attorney to comment on the accusations. According to WCOP Cincinnati, Elliott told police that Dunn was sending her "harassing phone calls and text messages" in October, 2016, but declined to press charges against him.

She was a crime, government, and breaking news reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and reporter for the Waukesha Freeman newspaper. But while officers were waiting, Dunn came to the front door "nonchalantly" about 8 a.m. and was arrested without incident, Reinbolt said.

"I can not picture him doing that", said Noe. "It's just really scary knowing that I've known somebody for five years and wouldn't see something like that in somebody".

She remembered Dunn coming over for cookouts on July 4th and buying diapers for her young son when she couldn't afford to.

But while she was sitting on her father's porch defending Dunn, her husband, Jeff Drake, sat down and without hesitating said, "He's insane".

He was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, police said.
