  • Manhunt underway for man who livestreamed homicide

Stephens took his own life on Tuesday as police attempted to pull him over.

Acting on a tip from the McDonald's employee, Pennsylvania State Police spotted Stephens leaving the restaurant in Erie and went after him, bumping his vehicle to try to get it to stop, authorities said.

"It was a short pursuit ..."

Police picked up the trail in a chase that lasted 2 miles before Stephens took his own life, authorities said.

"We are grateful that this has ended". During the manhunt, authorities offered a $50K reward for Stephens, which was pooled together by the FBI, ATF and US Marshal Service.

Stephens shot and killed 74-year-old Robert Godwin on Sunday morning.

"I feel bad; the last thing he would have said is my name and he didn't know me or why he was saying", Lane told them, according to Fox 8.

Almost two days after Steve Stephens fatally shot Godwin in cold blood, two of his daughters met with Joy Lane for the first time.

Police say Godwin is the only known victim.

In a Facebook announcement on Wednesday, he crowed that had he chose to run again, he'd handily beat any challenger. To Democrats, his exit is yet more evidence that anti-Trump protests are having an effect on Republicans.

DuCharme says Stephens replied he had no time to wait and drove away.

Green, a former court clerk, was "dumbfounded" when she found out about the murder video a day later, and promptly called him.

A source told Cleveland.com that she is cooperating with the authorities in the investigation.

"I wanted to see him go to trial, because it was God-awful what he did to my brother", she said.

Lane told the news station that she and Stephens were in a serious relationship and had considered an engagement not too long before they mutually broke up in part because of his gambling issues.

"I want to send my condolences and that I'm very sorry that this happened to you", Lane replied. "I am very sad for everyone involved".

"We disabled the suspect's account within 23 minutes of receiving the first report about the murder video - and two hours after receiving a report of any kind".

In an interview with CNN, several of Godwin's children said they held no animosity toward Stephens, either.
