We also know it will cost $549 whenever it launches.

TCL has announced that the Android-powered BlackBerry Keyone smartphone will launch in the United States on May 31.

"BlackBerry is giving a 4.5" 1080p display, a frugal, but powerful Snapdragon 625 chipset, a 12 MP camera with large pixels, and a hearty 3500 mAh juicer that promises fantastic battery life with these specs.

Unveiled in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the KEYone is the first smartphone to come out under a new brand- and device-licensing strategy announced by BlackBerry in September.

He said it's easy to predict there will be buyers for the KEYone in countries like India and Indonesia, where the BlackBerry became popular partly because of the security on its phones.

While that sequel was not as good as the original film, Goldblum is one of the film's highlights (alongside that cliff sequence). Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first " Jurassic World " movie, wrote the script for the sequel with Derek Connolly .

The phone runs Android 7.1 Nougat with BlackBerry DTEK security software. TCL said pre-orders in Canada will kick off May 18. On KEYone, each key on the keyboard will be customizable too. Like the classic BlackBerry devices, the KEYone will feature a physical keyboard below the 4.5-inch front display.

The specifications are solid if unspectacular, but its two features that hardcore BlackBerry fans will love are its comparatively long battery life and QWERTY keyboard.

More concrete are the KEYone's release details for the Canadian market, which despite market share declines still has a sizeable following of BlackBerry loyalists.

If you are one of those waiting to buy the BlackBerry KEYone, we have some good news. The battery charges to 50 percent after half an hour of charge. It also comes with the usual selection of BlackBerry software preinstalled, including BBM and BlackBerry's DTEK software, which is created to keep the phone running quickly and smoothly. There's no word when BlackBerry plans to bring the KeyOne to India.

TCL showed the new device at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in late February, saying it would ship globally sometime in April with a USA pricetag of $549.
